Here is a glimpse into a “normal” morning in the Chickadee classroom and a few of the activities the kids enjoy doing.
Center Time
This is one of the times of our day for the children to explore and learn about the world around us. While it might look like the kids are just playing, they are strengthening their little hands for future writing as they play with play dough, building a sense of spatial relationships with puzzles, and working on their social interactions as they play and work together.

Outside Play
During outdoor play the kids continue to explore and discover new things about the world around them–digging and pouring the sand, using chalk on the sidewalk, or riding a trike. It also gives them a chance to strengthen their bodies and enjoy some fresh air.

Gym Time
Gym time gives the kids another opportunity to work on using their large muscles as they jump on the mats, climb up the hill, or swing on the bar. It also is a time for some to play dress up or use some different centers they don’t normally get to play with.

Besides these three big areas of our morning, we also have some fun and exciting circle times. I’ll share some of those with you next time. Till then–Ms. Rachel
