Gymnastics at Naydenov Gym!
The children have all been very excited to walk to the gym for exercise. It has been a wonderful outdoor trek to the gym. We notice the sky and the trees as we walk to the gym on Monday and Thursday each week. We are noticing the color of the trees as they are beginning to change.
We had the wonderful experience of having two different teachers this week. Our regular teacher, Ms. Glendyne has shown the children how to stretch, summersault, and try new exercises. In this picture the Bluebirds are doing the “Bridge” which strengthens the arms, legs, and stomach muscles! Great job Bluebirds!
Our substitute teacher, Mr. Chris was so much fun. He made every stretch and exercise into a game.
The children have fifteen minutes of free time at the gym. They are able to use trampolines, swinging bars, and various mats in which they jump from into the pit full of cubes.

Parachute games were a part of the learning fun also. The children bounced balls off the parachute, ran in circles while holding on, and lifted the chute to climb under.
This week we started learning our first letter: L.
This week we started learning our first letter: L. As part of our introduction to L, we had some fun with a “L”eaf project and the children made their own lollipops. Notice the concentric circles of the lollipops.
As you can see, the Bluebirds were able to cut out the smallest circle themselves. We are encouraging the use of children’s scissors both at home and school. Scissors are an excellent way to build small muscle coordination in the hands and wrists. Please encourage your child to cut paper at home for further practice.
Have a great week!
