Halloween is just around the corner & we are so excited! Each day the Robins come to circle and ask to countdown the days until October 31st. Here’s a peek at some of the highlights from the Robins class this week.
Pumpkin Pounding!
This center was a huge hit this week. The Robins used a hammer to pound/remove nails from a pumpkin. This activity was a great way for us to practice taking turns, following safety rules (All children at this center were asked to wear safety goggles), motor skills, and hand-eye coordination.
We even painted with Pumpkins…
More fun with playdough. This week we incorporated pumpkin & other festive cookie cutters/tools…
Halloween math…
Reading books about Autumn, pumpkins, & Halloween…
This week we learned the song, “5 Little Pumpkins.” The Robins had a great time singing and acting out this song. Ask your Robin to sing it to you.
The Pumpkin Patch!
On Thursday, we took our annual field trip to Bi-Zi Farms and we had SO much fun!
We navigated our way through the paths and tunnels of the hay maze…
Then we were off to the petting zoo to see goats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, pigs, a donkey & a cow.
Next, we spent some time climbing up and through the hay pyramid…
Finally, we boarded the tractor and headed out into the fields…
Some of the Robins found the pumpkin they wanted right away, while others took their time examining many different pumpkins before making their decision.
Until next week,
Miss Crystal & Miss Julie
