Hello again! The last couple of weeks in the Robins’ class has been all about exploring winter, snowmen, & snow… Take a look!
Insta-snow in the sensory table…
The Robins have been working on a lot of different snow themed art, some of which is now on display in the middle room.
Snowflake prints using cookie cutters…
We created crayon resists using white crayon and watercolors. The Robins excitedly painted their papers to see what their secret winter message would be….
We painted winter scenes with a salt, flour, and water mixture. Next, we “cooked” them in the microwave for a few seconds to created unique, puffy masterpieces….
As a science experiment, the Robins attempted to grow a snowflake by using borax, water, and a pipe cleaner. The Robins really enjoyed using the magnifying glasses to observe the various changes that occurred throughout the week…
The Robins spent the last week reading books about snowmen & creating a very unique snowman for our bulletin board in the middle room.
The Robins worked on a snowman math project….How many cotton balls did you use to create your snowman? This activity focused on counting and writing numbers.
We drew snowmen for our January drawing…
We played snowman bingo…
The Robins are always given lots of opportunities to practice writing…
Last week we worked on writing the letter “J”…
Letter writing on magnetic tablets…
Creating books and illustrating our own stories…
We’ve also been working on our cutting with scissor skills by making collages our of various materials…
The Robins love exploring different tools for painting (from tree branches to fingers)…
Until next week,
Miss Crystal & Miss Julie
