ROBINS – April 15th – 19th

Hello Robins families! This week the Robins worked on the letter “T” and we continued our exploration of our solar system. Take a look!

The letter of the week was “T” for turtle. We made turtle art…

We also had the opportunity to meet Miss Julie’s pet turtle. The Robins loved examining this real live turtle up close and watching it eat crickets.

At circle time, we passed around a real shell and learned some fun facts about turtles, including how they are different from tortoises.

Here two Robins played “school” by taking turns reading books about turtles to one another…

The occasional sunny spring day really gets the Robins buzzing. This week we took advantage of the sunshine by playing out on the patio and blowing bubbles…

Painting the house with shaving cream paint was a fun outside art exploration…

We continued working on our solar system bulletin board. The Robins used a variety of materials and techniques to recreate the planets…

The finished product…

We made “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” books…

Rocket art…

Aren’t cardboard boxes amazing?
We think so! The highlight of this week was watching the Robins build rocket ships out of cardboard boxes and space helmets out of aluminium foil. The Robins showcased extraordinary amounts of creativity, patience, determination, and teamwork over the course of several days as they worked together on these creations.
