ROBINS – April 16th – 20th

Here’s what the Robins have been up to this week…Take a look!

Dramatic play is such an important part of early childhood development. It encourages problem solving, cooperation, self-expression, language use, and much much more. This week the Robins were really into the new costumes in the dramatic play area. We saw princesses, dinosaurs, Moms, Dads, & firefighters.

This week we tried to paint using oil & watercolors…

Number puzzles…

Fun with paper airplanes…

The letter of the week was T!

After we learned the sign for T & turtle, we made turtles in the sand using seashells.

We also discovered we could use our fingers to write other things in the sand, like our names!

And of course, sand is SO fun to play with!

Our cooking project this week consisted of tater tots, tomatoes, & Trix. Yum!

This week we studied seeds and are been trying to grow some of our own. After reading Eric Carle’s, The Tiny Seed, we discussed the different parts of a flower and what plants need to grow.

We examined the similarities and differences between different types of seeds…

We also started growing lima bean seeds. Each child wrapped a few seeds in a wet paper towel and hung them in the window to get some sun. Can a seed sprout without soil? How long will it take? Stay tuned to find out…

Thanks for reading!
