Robins – January 23rd-27th

This week was all about the letter “I” and snowmen. Take a look at all the fun we’ve been having…

Making the letter of the week with wood pieces…

At circle time we used both chalkboards and white boards to prcatice writing “I” and making circles.

The Robins love to practice writing!

We took turns building a snowman. We talked about size and sequencing as we placed small, medium, and large circles to form the body of our snowman.

Later in the week we used marshmallows & toothpicks to build snowmen…

We used dark construction paper, white crayons, and an epsom salt and water mixture to create snow scene artwork…

We also experimented with mixing our own paints by adding different colors to white tempura paint. The Robins are so creative! Some enjoyed just mixing the colors, some painted snowmen, and some even incorporated the mixing tools into their art.

We tried to build a snowman out of spheres of ice, but it didn’t work out like we expected. So we decided to make ice sculptures instead using water colors and salt. The kids enjoyed guessing how long the ice would take to melt away…

We also filled our sensory tub with different shaped pasta and some colorful beads!

We try to get outside every day, but sometimes it’s just too cold & wet. We make the best of it by getting creative indoors and taking time to still get in some exercise.

Building forts…

Doing yoga with Miss Julie…

After a few days of rainy weather, Mr. Sun came out to play & the Robins enjoyed every minute of it.

The kids used a tricycle to create a chalk grinding factory…

While some used sidewalk chalk to decorate…

We made soccer goals…

And went digging for buried treasure…

Until next week,

Miss Crystal & Miss Julie
