Can it really already be time for our last blog of the school year? Wow! This week the Robins spent most of their time getting ready for family night and enjoying the sunny weather. Here are some of the highlights from this week….
As the school year comes to a close, playing games is a great way to relax and spend time with friends and it also shows how far the Robins have come in skills like counting, thinking strategically, taking turns, and staying with one task for a period of time.
This week we transferred all our seeds into peat pots full of soil. Next week, the Robins will have a choice of bringing their plant home or planting it in the Kidspace garden…
The weather has been absolutely wonderful, and we have been taking full advantage of it by spending as much time outside as possible…digging, gardening, drawing, and chasing insects…
The Robins experimented with different tools to paint with neon colors that just seem to scream, “Summer is here!”
This week Kidspace was lucky enough to have a visit from author, Nat Iwata. He read his amazing new book, Steampunk Alphabet, and helped us to create our very own cartoon character in a collaborative process that involved the kiddos ideas. The Robins had such a great time!
This week we spent some time reviewing our alphabet and practicing our ABC sign & sing song. At circle time, we practiced the sounds that letters make and tried putting some of them together.
These Robins have an amazing love of books! We brought in some new Magic Treehouse books and the Robins spent the morning pouring over them, holding them, flipping through the pages, pretending to read them, and making up their own stories based on the pictures. This makes our hearts sing!
Thank you all so much for taking the time to keep up on our blog this year. We consider ourselves so lucky to have worked with so many amazing families this year. Have a great summer!
